Our network in the Waihi Region is suffering from a repeat critical equipment failure on a vital piece of equipment at one of our transmission sites. This is causing a total service outage for all customers connected via this transmission site. Remote recovery attempts have so far failed.

When it is safe to do so, Lightwire technicians are planning to attend to the site to replace the faulty equipment. It is expected that this will restore all impacted connections.

We will provide further updates as we receive them.

Lightwire engineers are aware of a widespread mains power outage across the Hamilton area, unfortunately due to factors outside of Lightwire's control. While our sites have battery backup, there is a chance you may experience a service outage this evening should mains not be restored beforehand.

We have been advised that this outage is expected to be resolved by 11:30pm this evening.
