Notification of Unplanned Carrier Outage

An Upstream Carrier has made us aware of a Board hardware issue on their network that may cause loss of service. Their technicians are urgently investigating this, but they have not provided an ETR just yet.

Latest update:

Lightwire Engineers have confirmed that service has remained stable since replacing the faulty equipment. We are not expecting any further issues or disruption from here.

[2025-05-20 10:39:21 NZST] Lightwire engineers have attended the site and replaced faulty equipment. Services should now be back to normal. We are continuing to closely monitor to confirm stability.


[2025-05-19 18:38:28 NZST] Lightwire Engineers have made adjustments to the tower in an effort to restore connectivity. Lightwire Technicians will be attending site tomorrow to identify and replace any failed equipment.

[2025-05-19 17:39:46 NZST] Lightwire technicians have identified a fault occurring at one of our towers in the Matamata region.
