Lightwire engineers have been unable to resolve the outage remotely, and suspect a hardware failure.

Lightwire field service technicians will attend the site with replacement hardware once it is safe to do so tomorrow morning.

A technician is currently working on site to restore connectivity after discovering unanticipated damage to the sites power supply. We do not have an estimated time to resolution (ETR) at this time, but we are actively working on it.

[2026-06-01 00:58:11 NZST] Lightwire engineers have identified and investigated an equipment fault at the radio tower in the Hauturu area, but have been unable to resolve it remotely.

A Lightwire technician will need to be dispatched on-site as soon as possible.

Our upstream fibre provider has identified and resolved the issue, our network is using primary paths again. We'll monitor things for stability, but do not anticipate any further disruptions to service performance at this time.

[2026-05-29 16:26:19 NZST] Lightwire is aware of a fibre fault affecting our Maramarua transmission site. Our upstream fibre provider is working on it but doesn’t have a restoration time just yet.

During this period, performance may be degraded at peak times as our network uses backup paths. Our engineers are actively working to minimize impact.
