Incident - Waihi Region

Our upstream fibre provider carried our remedial works late yesterday evening to restore fibre services to full via a temporary overlay. At this point we do not expect any further disruptions to service and anticipate works for a permanent solution to be carried out during non-impacting hours. We will otherwise notify you again if permanent repair works are likely to affect service.

[2023-04-12 15:11:44 NZST] The local fibre provider has estimated the fault location to be where contractors have excavated a large piece of land. They are attempting to identify the exact location of the fibre break so that remediation works can be carried out, but have indicated their efforts may be hindered by the excavation works. At this time they are unable to provide an ETR.

[2023-04-12 08:46:17 NZST] Lightwire has been informed of a major fibre cut in the Waihi region that supports all Lightwire sites in the Waihi region. Customers will be experiencing a degraded service until the local provider is able to fix the fibre cut.

Notification of Unplanned Carrier Outage

An upstream provider has identified a fault which they're currently working to restore, this has resulted in total loss of service. We will keep you updated as the incident progresses.

If your connection remains offline after the specified outage period, please reboot all on-site equipment. If your connection remains offline after this step, please do not hesitate to contact our support number on 0800 12 13 14.

[2023-04-11 08:22:12 NZST] Lightwire is aware of a suspected fibre cut affecting our Pirongia transmission site. Due to the loss of fibre, downstream sites will fall back to their redundant connections and some of these sites may experience degraded speeds as traffic increases throughout the day, until the fibre cut is resolved.

We are receiving updates from our upstream fibre provider and will provide more information as it becomes available.

Unplanned Event Risk Warning - Mains Power Outage - Giles Repeater Site

Lightwire has been informed of an outage to mains power supplying the Giles transmission site. While our site has backup battery power there is a chance that in the event of an extended outage or factors outside of Lightwire's control you may lose your connection. This also impacts the Hutch repeater site as Giles serves as it's backhaul. We will be working hard to get you back on line as soon as we can! Unplanned Outage - Kaimai 2 Tower

This Tower is back online and connections should be operating as normal at the moment. Technicians have replaced some faulty equipment, and our Engineers are now monitoring things in case of any other issues.

[2023-04-05 19:11:04 NZST] Lightwire engineers have been made aware of an issue with our Kaimai 2 Tower. The site appears to have dropped offline for a yet unknown reason. Lightwire Engineers will be working hard to restore this, and get your connections up and running again.
