Outage Affecting Mobile Services

Latest update:

The mobile calling incident impacting some customers was resolved as of 3:41pm yesterday.

We have been advised the issue was caused by a network fault, which has since been corrected and traffic successfully rerouted across the network.

Engineers continued monitoring services following the fix, with mobile calling performance now operating normally.

If you or your users are still experiencing issues making or receiving calls, please toggle Flight Mode on and off, or restart the mobile device. This will force the phone to reconnect to the corrected network route.

[2026-05-18 14:03:18 NZST] We’re aware of an upstream issue currently affecting some Lightwire mobile customers making and/or receiving mobile calls.

Our Mobile Network Operator has advised they are actively managing a network incident impacting their services and Lightwire Mobile services. Customers may experience intermittent VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling dropouts, along with issues completing or maintaining voice calls.
